Learning to drive: graduated licensing

Once you pass your eye and written tests, you get a G1 licence. Before you can get a full G licence, you have to:
  • finish two learning levels: G1 and G2.
  • pass two road tests
This process is called “graduated licensing.” It is designed to give new drivers time to practice and gain driving experience over time.
You have up to five years to finish the whole process. After five years, if you do not get your full G licence, you will need to start over.

G1 licence

By law, when you have a G1 licence, you must:
  • maintain a zero blood alcohol level (no alcohol in your blood)
  • make sure every passenger with you wears a properly working seatbelt
  • not drive between midnight and 5 a.m.
  • not drive on 400-series highways or high-speed expressways (e.g., 401, Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW), Gardiner Expressway)
  • drive with a fully licensed driver who has:
    • at least four years of driving experience
    • a blood alcohol level of less than .05 (if this person is 21 and under, their blood alcohol level should be zero)
The driver accompanying you must be the only other person in the front seat.  If you are driving with a driver instructor certified in Ontario, you can drive on any road.
In most cases, you practice with your G1 licence for 12 months.

G1 road test

The G1 road test is the first of two you need to take as a new driver.
  • you can take your first road test after 12 months with a G1 licence
  • this exam tests basic driving skills (e.g., turning left and right, stopping, parking)
  • once you pass, you get your G2 licence
If you finish an government-approved driver education course, you can take your first road test after just eight months.

Ontario driving schools

To take the G1 road test sooner, you will need to choose a driving school that is certified to train new drivers.

G2 licence

After passing your G1 road test, you get a G2 licence. You practice with your G2 licence for 12 months. You can now drive:
  • without another experienced driver in the car
  • on all Ontario roads
  • at any time of the day, in most cases
You must still:
  • have a zero blood alcohol level
  • carry only as many passengers as there are working seatbelts
If you are 19 and under, some other restrictions still apply.

G2 drivers: 19 and under

Between midnight and 5 a.m.: you can only drive with one passenger who is 19 or under in your car.
This condition applies for the first six months of G2. After six months, you can drive with up to three passengers 19 or under between midnight and 5 a.m.
This condition does not apply, if:
  • you have a fully licensed driver in the car (with four years plus experience driving)
  • your passengers are immediate family members (e.g., a parent, brother or sister)

G2 road test

This is the second of two road tests you take as a new driver.
  • you can take the test after 12 months with a G2 licence
  • the test covers more advanced driving skills (e.g., driving on a highway, parallel parking)
  • once you pass, you get a full G licence

Booking a road test

To book a road test appointment, you will need to provide:
  • your valid Ontario driver's licence number
  • a preferred location for taking the test
  • a second and third choice of location
  • a preferred date and time
You can book, cancel or reschedule a road test appointment:
  • online
  • by phone at 416-325-8580 or 1-888-570-6110

How to Quick Book Tatkal Train Tickets

How to Quick Book Tatkal Train Tickets

How to Quick Book Tatkal Train Tickets

This post is gonna be awesome for everyone who books Indian Railway ticket through irctc, especially at tatkal. During Tatkal booking, we are supposed to be ahead of others in booking tickets. Now a days IRCTC website is lightning fast compared to few months before. But still payment gateway do crash sometime, so little bit of luck is needed everywhere. Now what is required to be ahead of others ? You should be quick at typing , but as we all know everyone is not good at typing. Now I will tell you a trick which doesn’t even require to type . It is all copy and paste job.
This tutorial assumes that you have already logged in to the irctc website before the tatkal bookings started and already searched for the train and their details. As the time ticks @10 AM what you need to do is just that press on the Book Now.
Note: Keep on Refreshing using the option refresh at  booking list before 1 minute of the booking. I have observed sometimes our computer time is bit second later or earlier than the irctc time.
As you see Book Now button what all you have got to do is that follow this tutorial, it has some javascript code and don’t worry even if you know nothing about javascript. Just go through this tutorial. It’s all copy and paste job.
First of all I found this code using my previous blog View Source when right click is disabled. Now, To make this easier for everyone I have created a simple form fill similar to IRCTC  ticket booking and it would be quite easier to present the tutorial with some live url. You can use this url to fill your form and then create your bookmark. I will be presenting the tutorial with screenshots using my url. So here goes the tutorial:
2. Fill up the form, it will be same as your irctc form.
3. Click on Generate Script to get the script. Click on Reset Form , if you want to reset it.
Now After getting the script, you need to either bookmark it for future use or copy and paste it to the addresss bar of the form filling address bar of IRCTC. Your details will automatically gets filled in the live irctc site. You just need fill CAPTCHA , that can’t be set through javascript because it’s an instant and random generated text to disallow spamming.
Now question is how to make bookmark of the script ? Okay I will talk about 3 most used browsers Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.
Bookmark your javascript code in following ways:
Remember in Google Chrome you cannot copy the sentence “javascript:” but it would copy the code after it. So you need to manually type it on the browser. Otherwise you will get the google search rather than script running. So make a habit of it.
Better way is to create a bookmark rather than doing lot of copy and paste hard work.
Steps:
A) Press CTRL + D on any web page
chrome_bookmark
B) Go To Edit and Copy and paste the javascript code you have received in the textbox from the auto form filling.
save_chrome_bookmark
C) Save the Bookmark.
D) Enable Show Bookmarks (if not enabled). (Ctrl + Shift + B)
show_chrome_bookmark
E) As you reach to live IRCTC form filling page. Click on the bookmark you have created and Boom! you’re done.
booked_irctc_tatkal
You just need to fill the captcha.
Happy Railway Ticket Booking.

A) Right Click on the Bookmark Toolbar
bookmark_firefox
B) Give a Name and Paste the Javascript code into the Location option
save_firefox_bookmark
C) Click on The Add and Your book has been created. Now Apply the same step as in the chrome. Click on the Bookmark you have created when the IRCTC form fill loaded.

Same as Google Chrome, here also you cannot copy the sentence “javascript:” at one go. So you have to do it manually.  Instead of Bookmark, you have “Add to Favorites” option present.
A) Go to any opened web page and right click and select “Add to Favorites”.
favorites_internet_explorer add_favorite_internet_explorer
B) Go To Favorites Option, Given in A Star Symbol at Top Right Corner
Select the added favorite and Right Click on it and then Select Properties
properties_favorite

C) Now Provide the javascript code which you have received using the auto form fill and Save It .
save_favorite_internet_explorer

D) Now whenever you go to the live IRCTC site form filling section, just click on this favorite button and Boom!! you will be saving lot of typing time.

So this way we can easily consume our time of filling up the form manually. It is not just time consuming but also prevent you from being annoyed of the large form fill up.

How to Choose a Data Recovery Company

How to Choose a Data Recovery Company

"Data Recovery" is a dreaded term referring to the restoration or retrieval of files on a portable mass storage device that is no longer functioning properly. Fortunately, there is an entire industry devoted to this all-too-common problem. Whether its a USB flash drive, SD card, XD card, SSD solid state drive, or standard hard drive, this guide will help put you on the right track to finding the right data recovery company for your job. For this article, we will be using a defective USB flash drive as the example. The steps below begin with the initial failure of the drive, and end with the successful recovery of all files it contained.

1.Don't panic. It can be horrifying to realize that suddenly you can no longer access the files contained in your drive. Unplugging/replugging it into the computer only risks further damage.

2.To ensure it is in fact the flash drive that is malfunctioning, plug it into 1 or 2 other computers available to you. If a friend or co-worker isn't available, find a public computer at a library for example. Again, you need only plug it in once to see if it's working or not. Alternatively, you can try using a free data recovery software program; if the program does not recognize the device, internal damage is confirmed.

3.If you receive the error message: "USB device not recognized" -or- "This device needs to be formatted" see this WikiHow Article. If not, continue to the next step.

4.Assuming the data stored on your device has any importance at all, it's time to begin searching to enlist the services of a professional data recovery company. In this case, a search for "USB Data Recovery" will provide adequate options.

5.Begin at the top of the list of search results online.

6.When looking at a data recovery company website, look for indications of their credibility. Just because a company has a flashy website doesn't mean they do quality work; look for testimonials, reviews, or any indication that they have done business with a large corporation or federal agency

7.Next, find the companies' pricing page. Data recovery is not a 'one size fits all' industry, and therefore should be priced accordingly; avoid companies that offer flat rate pricing. Also, you wouldn't go to a restaurant and pay before you eat, and the same goes for data recovery; the company you choose must have a 'zero costs until successful recovery' type of policy. Note: The only exception to this is a small shipping and diagnostic fee that will likely need to be included when you ship your device to them.

8.When you are satisfied you have found a reputable and cost effective company, find and fill out a service order form located on their website. Pack up your device in a padded or bubble-wrap envelope and ship it to the company address. Note: NEVER use a standard paper envelope to ship your device; it will likely get damaged or slip out of a tear in the paper.

9.Be patient. Some companies offer live tracking services so that you can see the status of your order without having to call in and ask. If you haven't gotten an update after 5 business days, call in or check your e-mail for any new information. Cross your fingers for a success!

10.If the company was successful in recovering your data, they will contact you, and usually by default they will ship a data CD or DVD containing your files. Hooray! It is worth noting that some companies offer additional services such as an upload link, which allows you to download your recovered files immediately after a success from an online link provided by the company.
